Diversos fenómenos fuera del equilibrio, como los efectos Mpemba y Kovacs, pueden dar pie al diseño de protocolos que aceleren el calentamiento de un sistema. En esta charla se comparan y caracterizan estos comportamientos de relajación anómala en el modelo de Ising en una y dos dimensiones.


English layman's summary:

Several out-of-equilibrium phenomena, such as the Mpemba and Kovacs effects, can pave the way to useful applications, such as precooling strategies for faster heating. In this talk, we compare these anomalous relaxation behaviors in one- and two-dimensional Ising models.
